I'm back!

I was almost embarassed to check my blog and see how long it's been since I updated it. I was surprised that it hadn't been a year or longer.

I'm building a new home based business. It's selling Miche Bag purses. I love it and help manage a team of 11 ladies. We've been doing a lot of craft fairs and will be at the Rigby High School craft fair on the 14th. Stop by and say Hi!

We also just bought the house next door to us. The plan is for Connor to move in and live on his own but still be close enough that we can help him. He is looking for a puppy so he won't be all alone and lonely. We hope to close next week and start moving him in.

We have been working hard on getting our year supply of food stored. What a lot of work! Together with my brothers and sister we've been working at the cannery and holding weekly family meetings on Sunday's to plan what we'll do next. It feels good to be getting somewhere on it.

I hope it won't be months before I get back to blogging. I love it!

Counting down the days until.....

I leave for Florida on Saturday the 21st to watch my 3 beautiful grandkids while my daughter and her husband go to Seattle for a week. Tonight on Skype, Christian (he's 4) had to show me the Kung Fu moves he learned watching Kung Fu Panda. Caroline is excited to paint pictures with me and I don't know where Kevin was. He's 12 so he was probably out playing in the neighborhood. Can you spell "spoiled"? That's what I have planned for the entire week. I can't wait to get there.

My story style is "Once Upon A Time". What's yours?

Cherish Bound has this great test that you can take to see what your style is. Didn't know you had a story style, did you? Well, you do and so do I. I am "Once Upon A Time". Cherish Bound is an amazing company that I am proud to be part of. With everything you have to do these days, you may wonder why you would add one more thing. How about because you love your family. Stories help you connect with your kids, husband, mother, father, friends, etc. and build them up in a way that they will treasure forever. So, click on the story style link, take the quiz and then get your family talking! Oh, and don't forget to let me know what style you are.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

I went to see this movie last night with 10 ladies that I work with. It was a blast! We had almost the whole theater to ourselves-there were only 5 other people there. Of course, my sister Leisa went with us-she's the original Shopaholic! When I told Connor where I was going he said "Leisa has to go with you". We have a couple of employees who are shopaholics in training. When it comes to the cheap theater we are all going to go again.

Beautiful Girl

Just because I don't have enough to do (HA HA!) I started working on Saturday's at a new boutique in town. It is owned by my friend Denise and is called Beautiful Girl. She has the most amazing girls clothes. I need to have all of them for my granddaughter, Caroline, so I thought the best way to afford them was to work for them. As soon as I get pictures of her in the clothes I'll post them.

Things I Know For Sure

I have been working on a list of "Things I Know For Sure" and this morning I added 3 new ones, bringing the total to 18. I plan on publishing them in a Cherish Bound book to give to my children but I want to make sure the list is complete before I write it. I've been working on it for about 6 months. It seems to be easy for me to write my thoughts in this blog so I will practice here. My list so far:

1. Prayer works.
2. I will never stop loving my children.
3. Having children changes you.
4. Having grandchildren changes you even more.
5. The elderly are sometimes left here on earth to test how we will treat them.
6. You will do something as a parent that you swore you'd never do.
7. I am not responsible for someone else's actions.
8. Forcing others to do what you want is Satan's plan.
9. I can't change anyone but myself.
10. Love is the most important thing I need to learn in this life.
11. What goes around comes around.
12. Struggle makes you strong.
13. I don't need to be perfect. I just need to do my best.
14. You learn the most by doing.
15. Happiness has nothing to do with "things".
16. Giving away your money (tithing) makes you wealthy.
17. Being honest in everything is HARD!
18. Preparation brings peace.

I have stories and thoughts to go along with each title. I also started writing in my Cherish Bound Gratitute journal. Sunday's seem to be quieter and I'm better able to reflect on these important items.

David, Mom, Leisa, Jon, Me, Don

I was just going through some of my pictures on my computer and I came across this one at dad's funeral. It is a great one of mom and my brothers and sister. I sure do miss dad. Just seeing him in some of these pictures makes me long to hear his voice and play a couple of hands of pinochle or just watch Star Trek with him. Boy, I never thought you'd hear me say I wish I could watch Star Trek! Sweet memories.
